Steve Fleming was named the ARPD Trails Committee 2018 Volunteer of the Year Here he is being recognized for his Trail Manager role in working with Terry Collins and volunteer trail crews in restoring and reinvigorating the Collins Pine Nature Trail. Steve has planned the sequence of trail upgrades, introduced new signage, arranged trail crew cleanups and weed-wacking. He regularly visits the trail are to schedule additions such as benches and stream crossing bridges as well as annually installing snow poles for marking the trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing during the winter.
Steve has extensive experience in trails creation from his many years of management and field roles the Fountain Hills trail system portion of the 740-acre McDowell Mountain Preserve just outside of Scottsdale, Arizona.
